فعل مفرد + اسم جمع + the number of

فعل جمع + اسم جمع + a number of

مثال:

The number of books is not enough......... تعداد کتابها کافی نیست .

A number of books have been stolen ......تعدادی از کتابها سرقت شده اند .

حروف انگلیسی A,B,C,D در املای انگلیسی هیچ یک از اعداد 1 تا 99 دیده نمی شود؟

حرف D برای اولین بار در عدد 100 بکار می رود (Hundred)
حروف A,B,C در املای انگلیسی هیچ یک از اعداد 1 تا 999 دیده نمی شود.

حرف A برای اولین بار در املای عدد 1000 دیده می شود (Thousand)
حروف B,C در املای انگلیسی هیچ یک از اعداد 1 تا 999999999 دیده نمی شود.

Like shooting fish in a barrel = very easy

It originated from when two men were having a shooting contest. They each said what each other had to shoot. Number 1 said to shoot a bird in a tree and Number 2 said to shoot a fish in a barrel- thinking that it would be very hard. Apparently, shooting a fish in a barrel was incredibly easy! This was because the vibration of water once, once it was shot, was enough to kill the fish in it. Prior to the days of refrigration, fish were packed and stored in large barrels. The barrels were packed to the rim full of fish. As such, any shot that enetred the barrel would be guaranteed to hit at least one of them. This being the case, nothing would be easier than shooting fish in a barrel.

 Jane is a good mechanic. Changing a tire is like shooting a fish in a barrel for her.

Scientific description: Fish are extremely sensitive to the slightest water pressure change thanks to a specialized organ they have called the lateral line, which detects water displacement, force and direction. When a bullet moving faster than the speed of sound strikes the water, it forms a high-pressure acoustic shockwave in front of it. Similar to how a loud noise can injure a person's ear drum, such an intense pressure fluctuation from the ballistic shockwave would rupture the fishes' blood vessels and mortally wound them, proving that you don't even have to shoot a single fish to kill a barrel full of them . h
